Enviro Squad

Enviro Squad means to us…

Our students have a number of opportunities to make change and have an impact on our school community. One of them is to become an Enviro Squad leader. At the beginning of the year, students are nominated and voted in by peers to be leaders to represent the school, the students and be environmental advocates for our planet. They meet a number of times during the term to plan, discuss and implement projects or activities. They even get to join an online forum with other like minded school students within Victoria. The Enviro Squad team is facilitated by Alex Green and Farmer Jill.

Achievements so far…

• Started “Waste Warriors” station where any student can come and collect a tub and tongs to collect rubbish throughout the grounds. They even get to wear a special Hi-vis vest.

• Anointed a Turtle plushie as their mascot and named it “Eco”.

• Began collecting empty containers to fundraise through the CDS program. Students collect their water bottles and juice packs from special lunch days as well as donations of empty containers (cans, bottles, juice boxes) from staff and families.
