Mont De Lancey
The Education Centre at Mont De Lancey is facilitated by Wandin Yallock Primary School in partnership with Mont De Lancey Historical Society and has been established for well over 15 years. Wandin Yallock's partnership with Mont De Lancey has been long standing through our close contact through many forms such as excursions, and due to this relationship there are many leadership opportunities for Wandin Yallock Grade 3-6 Students.
The Education Centre explores the lifestyles of late 19th Century to early 20th Century Wandin settlers. Guided tours of the facilities and hands on experiences of settler activities for all students ensure a rich understanding of this unique time in our history.
Whether it is 'being disciplined' in our old school house, learning to write with 'pen and nib' & inkwells, playing quoits, making peg dolls & lavender bags, cooking damper, making butter, or watching the blacksmith at work, students are always engaged and eager to participate in this hands on learning experience.
