Farm
At Wandin Yallock PS we live and breathe our school CARING values and one big part of that is Respect. As human beings, we should therefore learn how to take care of and ‘respect’ Australia's extraordinary flora and fauna. During their time at Farm, we teach our students about sustainability and how to maintain the school grounds and beyond, but also how to grow their own vegetables and take care of our chickens with the one and only Farmer Jill. The produce that students cultivate is then used during cooking activities, shared during lunch times and we even have a Farm Produce stall where the students sell freshly picked crops to our families, friends and people within the community.
We believe that by doing so we are teaching our students how to be global citizens and empowering them to make a difference in the world. Our Farm Program is run weekly across the school with many yearly projects that students continue to work on and Farm is also used by educators and students for other class activities.
